What Should I Wear? Party Party Party!

December 21st, 2011 by admin

There is always so much stress and pressure when it comes to finding the right New Years Eve outfit!  So let me make it easier with my suggestions!

 1. Joie Skipper Sequin Dress ($415)

This is the essential piece to have s the party dress to have with its femine and fun sequins! The Skipper dress is perfect and sexy for any New Years Eve or Xmas Party.

 2. Les Petites Masculine Coat in Brique ($545)

To top off the dress and overall outfit, I recommend adding some fun color with this great statement piece for the Fall Winter seasons from Les Petites. The rich wool fabric keeps you warm and gives the fun party dress a hit of glamour.

 3. Rosegold Lane Heels (Sale, $132)

Sexy shoes are perfect for your night out, so I recommend the Rosegold Lane Heels. The on-trend style features an upper with sexy cut-outs and a peep-toe. With a concealed platform and a covered stiletto heel, you’ll have a noticeable lift without crossing the line.

4. House of Harlow Textured Ring ($38)

5. House of Harlow Horseshoe Bangle ($48)

Keep the jewelry minimal as you don’t want to take away from the fabulous dress. I suggest going with a Textured Ring and the Horseshoe Bangle. Simple, Easy and it won’t break budget!

6. Messy Tousled Hair

I recommend tousled flirty hair that is down which provides a sexy look to when you’re partying the night away!

What Should I Wear? Family

December 12th, 2011 by admin

Since this is a family affair you want to be tasteful and respectful, especially if it is the boyfriends or husbands family dinner! You definitely don’t want to send the wrong message by walking in looking like the harlot! With that being said you don’t want to go unnoticed either, so an outfit that is classy, fashionable and on trend works best!

1. Charli Millie Dress in Dark Grey ($165)

The classic look and fit of the Millie dress is perfect and comfortable with its stretchy and soft fabric. The length is perfect for the occasion and hugs the body nicely without being inappropriate.

 2. Muubaa Bronson Sheepskin Cowl Neck Coat ($795)

To add a shield against the cold weather I recommend the Bronson Coat which provides amazing warmth and demands attention as it is right on trend with this seasons look and radiates luxury with its impeccably smooth and soft leather and shearling lining.

3. House of Harlow Gold Coin Necklace ($198)

4. House of Harlow Horseshoe Bangle ($48)

To break up the dress and add some depth to the dress, I suggest going for the Gold Coin Necklace and the Horseshoe Cuff for a little luck and elegance.

 5. House of Harlow Norah Snake Skin Pump ($258)

Since the dress is a solid colour, shoes are the perfect option to incorporate a nice print or pattern to your outfit. So take advantage and spice it up with the Norah Snake Skin Pumps.

 6.  Swept Low Bun

I have chosen a swept low bun as it provides an elegant look that is soft and romantic

What Should I Wear? Fun Alternative To A Dress

December 7th, 2011 by admin

During the holiday season everyone feels they must be decked out for the parties however, for some holiday occasions you can still be “dressed up” without actually having to wear a dress! It’s all in pairing the right colors, fits and accessories.

1. Joie Lenora Top ($225)

The rich vibrant red of the Joie Lenora top is amazing on any skin color and perfect for the holiday season. The flowy fit is not only super comfortable and sexy but great for those big holiday dinners!

2. 7 For All Man kind Kaylie Bootcut ($225)

Dark indigo denim is always a go to option as it gives a more “dressier” feel. The fitted cut and the slight flare at the bottom of the Kaylie Bootcut flatters the lower body perfectly and is big for the seasons denim trends.

 3. Muubaa Aviatress Jacket ($600)

I recommend adding the beautifully cool Aviatress Jacket ($600) to keep you warm when you’re outside in the cold weather. The chocolate brown leather jacket has multiple variations, which allows you to wear it a multitude of ways (as is, vest, fur collar attached or without). The Aviatress jacket is a guaranteed wardrobe piece that can carry you through all seasons.

4.  Noe Suede Pump in Red

I recommend adding the classic Red suede pumps by Noe to keep in the red fever to compliment the top.

5.  House of Harlow Carnelian Dome Ring ($69)

6.  C.Pak & Co. Bracelets ($23)

To dress up the outfit, accessorize with the Carnelian Dome Ring and stack your wrist(s) with the affordably chic C.Pak & Co. Bracelets

7. Loose Wavey Hair

Keep it simple and classic. Loose Waves let down are the way to go!

What Should I Wear? Work Function

November 28th, 2011 by admin

I would suggest something that is sophisticated and tasteful since you are still in a work/business environment.  However, you should spice it up a little for the party to show your co-workers that you have a fun fashionable side!

1.  Les Petites Twist Dress in Olive ($375)

The rich Olive colour of the Twist Dress is perfect for the season and the dress is perfect for a work function as it is not too revealing and the draping of the fabrics with the twist detail flatters the body flawlessly.

2. Plastic Island Sydney Biker Jacket in Beige ($225)

To add a bit of edge to your sophisticated and chic outfit, I recommend the Sydney biker Jacket. The cropped length and the neutral Beige tone works well to compliment the Olive green without covering any of the flattering twist details from the dress.

3. , 4. House of Harlow Metal Fringe Earrings in Gold ($135) / Sunburst Cocktail Ring in Khaki ($58)

Since the dress is one colour I would recommend including some statement pieces of jewelry to heighten the look. House of Harlow’s Gold Fringe Earrings and Sunburst Ring compliment the dress and are perfect color combinations.

5. Noe Pump in Beige ($125)

A beige pump is a nice addition to the overall outfit and your existing wardrobe as they are not too high and really comfortable for dancing and mingling. The earthy Beige tone doesn’t take away from the rest of the look and match the Sydney Biker jacket!

6. Pulled Back Hairstyle

To show off the earrings and the front detailing of the dress a pulled back hairstyle is the perfect choice!

What Should I Wear? Romantic Date

November 22nd, 2011 by admin

Whether it’s the first date or the millionth date, you should always want to dress to impress! Here’s what I recommend to make him fall head over heels again!

 1.      Mason Gathered Dress with Leather Sleeves ($395)

Make him go “oh la la” with this sexy and flattering Gathered Dress that hides the bumps and gives you that chic appeal with the leather sleeves.

 2.      Les Petites Hivernal Belted Coat ($510)

The Hivernal Coat is spot on with the latest trends in fashion. The rich Bordeaux color is big for the Fall Winter color scheme and the belted styling is prevalent in this season outerwear trends. The overall look is classic, elegant and guaranteed to keep you warm for that romantic walk out.

 3.      House of Harlow Feather Lock Ring ($88)

Since the dress stands out you don’t need too many accessories, so the fun Feather Locket Ring is the perfect accessory!

 4.      Rosegold Lane Heels (Sale, $132)

The black coordinates well with the leather in your dress and the cutout peep toe heel gives the overall outfit depth and edge. It’s a match!

 5.      Tousled and Flirty Hair

I suggest a hairstyle that is left down, tousled and wavy!  The look is very flirty and sexy! Just what your date wants ;)

Outerwear at Holly

November 7th, 2011 by admin

Fall is coming to an end and Winter is quickly approaching as the holiday season slowly takes over the city. As always with every Winter, we can expect part wet and part dry weather with temperature levels that drop slightly below zero; but knowing Vancouver’s unpredictable reputation for weather, it could go the other way!

It’s time to put away your lightweight jackets and time to armor yourself with outerwear that is guaranteed to keep the chilly weather out and the warm and fuzzy in! This season Holly is providing a wide array of artillery to brave against this seasons cold temperatures. From Leather to Wool to Parka’s, Holly has got you covered and hoping that the cold weather sticks around.

In Vancouver, it is mandatory to own a quality outerwear piece just like it is crucial for you to have an umbrella! A jacket that is wearable throughout the season and appropriate for all occasions is something worth investing in. To help you out, we’ve rounded up our favorite options, all of which are certain to enliven your cold-weather wardrobe!

1.Mason: Leather Trim Blanket Coat ($560)

The Mason Blanket coat is perfection for those dry but Sunny Winter days where going for a nice stroll out to the market or an easy Sunday Brunch requires something comfortable but well put together. The oversized cardigan sweater features a shawl collar and an open placket with leather panel at back that is just the perfect execution that turns a basic piece into a luxe must have. Ribbed edges and an asymmetrical hem finish off the piece for that added edge.

2. Muubaa: Bronson Cowl Neck Jacket ($795)

This season is it’s all about wrapping yourself in warm luxury. The Muubaa Bronson Jacket is a 100% real sheepskin jacket with a beautifully draped soft cowl neck and full length sleeves with jersey rib panel on the back of the sleeve for that hint of moto chic. With raw edges and a raw cut hem this jacket has the guaranteed “bam” that every outfit needs!

3. Muubaa: Charme Aviatress Jacket ($600)

For the days when you’re feeling a little Joan Jett, we recommend this killer Aviator Style leather jacket made of 100% lambs leather. The Charme Aviatress jacket can be worn a multitude of ways with its detachable beige sheepskin collar and detachable arms which can be turned in to a vest. The jacket features asymmetric zip front, zipped jetted pockets, side zip details and cuff zips. If you’re still hunting for an essential leather jacket, then this is it! With removable sleeves and sheepskin collar, you get two styles of jacket plus two styles of vest in one!

4. Les Petites Collection: Hivernal Coat w. Buckle ($510)

For elegance and class, Les Petites has what you need. Made in France, the Hivernal Coat focuses on classic styling with its shawl collar and belted waist. Foregoing embellishments, the Hivernal Coat radiates that certain je ne sais quoi that so many of the French have.

5. Les Petites Collection: Masculine Single Button Coat ($545)

Although the weather maybe darkening and the sky monochromatic, that should not be reflective of your color choices. Forego your standard fail safe picks of navy, charcoal and noir and try a new color with a kick! We suggest Les Petites Masculine Single Button Coat in Brique to inject some serious style into your autumnal and winter outfits.

6. Patterson J. Kincaid: Lauren Long Fur Trim Parka ($415)

You can never go wrong with a parka. The only problem? It’s hard to keep warm in them if it isn’t lined! Well Patterson J. Kincaid has you covered. The Lauren cotton-twill parka features a detachable sherpa lined jersey vest to ensure you stay warm. The parka also features a hidden 7-snap and 2-way zip closure at the front. 100% Fox fur trim on the zip-off hood for that added luxe and a drawstring waist for a better fit.

7. Patterson J. Kincaid: Angela Short Fur Trim Parka ($325)

The little sister version to the Lauren Parka with all the same embellishments and detailing. It’s that easy!

Who What Wear Features Equipment’s Signature Blouse

December 1st, 2010 by admin

Who What Wear Daily has featured one of the newest and hottest pieces hitting stores, Equipment’s Signature Blouse, for their “Working Girl: Gift Guide” segment. Check out what WWWD has to say about the Signature Blouse:

“A silk button-down is nine-to-five staple, and Equipment’s iterations are some of our absolute favorites. While we’d never stop you from picking one up in every color, we’d select this rich olive hue for the WG because it’s a great, cutting-edge neutral that lends itself to a myriad of looks. She can wear it to break up a tan, black, or navy suit, and then pair it with skinny jeans and heels when casual Friday finally rolls around.”

A little about the brand:

Dating back to 1975, Equipment is all about taking menswear and revamping it with feminine appeal; resulting in the brand being known for their refined tailoring and classic pieces for woman. All about perfecting “the shirt”, the label was re-launched in 2010 with an emphasis on sophisticated French minimalism and laid-back California boho style.

Androgynous silhouettes and subtle allure are what Equipment pieces are all about.  Women who are strong, chic, adventurous, sexy, and above all, classic will appreciate the Equipment pieces we have in store.
